Makers’ Workshop houses a fascinating story of Burnie’s industrial heritage and its links to all things paper, from the heady days of the Pulp to the boutique hand-made paper operation today. A Creative Paper Interactive paper-making tour departs every 45 minutes and participants can try their hand at making their own unique paper, or find out why roo poo and wombat scats make such great paper. At any time visitors can see artists working on site; including wood turners, print makers, paper artists, milliners, fibre artists, bead makers and many more. Their work, along with other Tasmanian artists and makers, can be seen in the shop and gallery. Fully serviced café can provide a variety of meal options to groups.
