TAMWORTH REGIONAL GALLERY
Tamworth Regional Gallery was established in 1919 and is one of the oldest regional galleries in New South Wales. The collection comprises the John Salvana collection of Australian paintings and drawings from 1919; the Burdekin collection of 19th and early 20th century Australian landscapes; the Regan Silverware collection; the Utopia collection of paper and silk batiks, and a collection of Australian landscapes created by Australian and regional artists.
Tamworth Regional Gallery also holds an extensive fibre and textile collection dating from the 1960s. The Gallery hosts Australia’s leading textile exhibition, the Tamworth Textile Triennial.
Tamworth Regional Gallery consists of two main galleries. Exhibitions change approximately every six weeks. The exhibition program and public program details are available on the Gallery website. The Tamworth Regional Gallery shop is stocked with a beautiful array of Australian made and designed products.
Guided tours and school or group visits to the Gallery are welcome and can be arranged for any day or time. Bookings can be made by telephoning Tamworth Regional Gallery.
